Happy Tech Tuesday! This week, our Welding students are hard at work mastering essential shop competencies, including shielded metal arc welding, gas metal arc welding, and grinding. These skills are crucial for building strong, precise welds and ensuring smooth, safe, and long lasting finishes on metal projects. It’s amazing to watch them hone their craft and build the foundation for successful careers in the industry!

Happy Tech Tuesday! Last week a few of our Agriculture students from our Forestry & Natural Resources and Animal & Plant Science programs were able to travel to Indianapolis for the National Future Farmers of America Convention. Our forestry team competed against the best of the U.S, at the National FFA forestry CDE (Career Development Event). Wednesday the team started with a written exam and four rotating practicums that included: map interpretation, tree scaling for volume, tree ID, a forestry business problem and a team event. The team placed in the bronze category overall. Mason Blood and Jared Howald placed in silver. Maria White and Emily Peckham placed in bronze. The students worked so hard and did such an amazing job.

Happy Tech Tuesday! Students and staff alike are very happy that the Campus Corner is back in operation! This isn't just a place to get great nutrition, hydration, and school merchandise but much more. This is a place where our business students get their first tastes of how a real business runs. Marketing, accounting, inventory, customer service the list of learned skills goes on and on. Throughout the students' two years in the Business program they are able to work in all facets of the Campus Corner gaining the skills from each department as well as figuring out what positions fit best with their personality and skills and what they're most passionate about! These future business leaders have our community in good hands!

Happy Tech Tuesday! Our Automotive program is off to the races this year. Our level one students are currently getting their hands dirty and are working on engine assembly and disassembly. They're practicing to master skills that help keep us drive from coast to coast and down the street to our local supermarkets! One day these students will be the leaders in our automotive community that keep us moving.

Happy Tech Tuesday! Our EMT students are learning how to keep the beat! No, not with instruments, they are training to master CPR techniques. They have also been doing a lot of hands-on training both with their life size simulation ambulance and practicing their patient transfers. The students get a hands-on experience that has a real-world feel. This will better prepare them for what it will feel like when they are out in the field. We are very proud of all of our EMT students as we watch them develop the skills they need to be future life savers!

Happy Tech Tuesday! This week, our Business students have been working on their communication and professional skills in some creative ways. From tackling a cup-stacking challenge with obstacles like blindfolds and no talking, to learning how to tie a tie, they’re gaining valuable teamwork and real-world skills. It’s inspiring to see them tackle these challenges and build the foundations of confidence and professionalism they’ll carry forward!

Happy Tech Tuesday! We're so excited to see our Agriculture students in both Animal & Plant Sciences and Forestry & Natural Resources already thriving in their new space. While the building isn't 100% complete yet, that hasn't stopped the teachers and students from jumping in head first this week and making the spaces their own. Their enthusiasm is incredible and we can't wait to show the community after its completion. Stay tuned for an update on when we will officially celebrate the opening of our Agriculture Center.

Happy Tech Tuesday! We’re already diving into exciting new projects at SRVRTC. This week, our Engineering I students are building Catapults! This allows them to learn the basics of design, measurement, teamwork, and data analysis. This project will lead to the students creating their own carnival game using their learned skills and knowledge later in the year. We can’t wait to see their progress and the creativity they bring to the table. Keep up the great work, and let’s make this week another one to remember!

Welcome back to school, and happy Tech Tuesday! We’re thrilled to kick off the year with great energy and enthusiasm. One program we’re especially excited to highlight is our first-ever Level 2 Education & Behavioral Science class. After launching the program last year, this is the first time we’re offering the Level 2 course. We can’t wait to see the innovative projects these students will undertake and the incredible achievements they’ll reach this year!

Happy Tech Tuesday! Last week our welders had the amazing opportunity to be visited by our friends from the A&H Welding Academy in Dover, NH. The students watched a demo on downhill pipe welding and got to put their new skills to the test! It's amazing to see such a strong community of welders and educators in this state that come together and show our students what can be possible in their future, and the diverse opportunities within the welding industry.

Happy Tech Tuesday and Welcome to our new Business Lab! Come on in, students, we're open! This space, commonly referred to as our school store by the students, is a great place for students to stock up on snacks, hydrate, and get school apparel. For our Business students the lab is a great place to learn the ins and outs of how a multi-dimensional business works and is a great place to set the foundation for many skills they'll use in the future.

The pride and dedication of our Tech students shone brightly through their breathtaking floats, a testament to their hard work and creative prowess! It was truly a great weekend. A special thank you to our teachers and Caleb Godwin for providing these great photos.

Happy Tech Tuesday! Have you wondered about the new building being constructed? We're raising beams and growing dreams! Our new building will be the home for our Forestry & Natural Resources, Animal & Plant Sciences, Floral Design, and Outdoor Recreation classes and more. Plus, it'll also be the cozy home to our school's greenhouse and animals. From roots to rooftops, futures are being constructed.

Happy Tech Tuesday! Can you believe it's already time to think about what classes you want to take next year? Time flies! Recently we had a "CTE Apply Day" event where students got to talk with teachers and other students from the programs they're interested in. We had a great turn out and can't wait to see the students who attended in class next year! Make sure you get your application in for our amazing CTE classes by the end of THIS WEEK!
