My name is Abby Hughes, and I'm a Dartmouth engineering undergrad and chair for the Society of Women Engineers at the College. I received your contact from the recent Science Day organizers, and am reaching out to publicize an event that will be hosted at Thayer this coming Saturday, May 6th.
The event will be hosted at the Engineering and Computer Science Center (ECSC) Atrium and will feature demos and interactive activities in various engineering disciplines, led by Dartmouth student volunteers. The event has the mission of encouraging local middle and high school female-identifying students to pursue education and eventual careers in engineering and STEM.
If you have connections to young women who may be interested in attending, please spread the word! We are still looking for more student attendees.

This is just a reminder that if you have not yet picked up your tickets for the Choose Love event this evening, April 20th 2023, that they are available for pick up at the SAU office.
**Tickets will not be available at the door and are required for entrance to the event.**

The venue for the Choose Love event scheduled for Thursday April 20th has been changed to Newport Middle High School at 245 North Main Street, Newport NH.


As of today, April 18, 2023, the projected last day of school for students is Thursday, June 15, 2023. This is pending no other cancellation days.

The Middle School Glow dance was a huge success put on by the PTO. Thank you to Shaw’s and YouthCAN for your generous donations. YouthCAN also gave away an IPad to the student that had the best dance moves!

Good Afternoon,
Today at approximately 12:30pm there was a physical altercation between two high school students. This altercation took place in the student parking lot. The Newport Police and Ambulance were called. One student was taken by ambulance.
There were several high school students that witnessed this altercation. These students were interviewed by the Newport Police. If you have a high school student, please take a few moments to discuss this with them. If you find that your child was a witness and did not speak to a police officer, please call the school so arrangements can be made. Please also inform your child, school counselors will be available if needed.
Please know that student privacy and safety is always a major priority.

Tickets for the Middle School Dance will be on sale Thursday and Friday During lunch for $5.00.


The New Hampshire Department of Education wants to hear from staff, families, and community members in our school community. The 603 Bright Futures Survey now through April 28. This survey will gather actionable feedback around learning models, school climate, family and community engagement and other topics in order to understand the successes and challenges of the recent school year and plan for the upcoming school year.
