A virtual, statewide Financial Aid 101 presentation will be held by Granite Edvance (formerly the NHHEAF Network) on Tuesday, November 21st at 6pm for high school seniors and their families. During this presentation, families will learn how to understand financial aid, the FAFSA and how to complete it, ways students can save money while still pursuing a post-secondary degree, along with tools on how to search for private scholarships! SENIORS - ApplyNH Day is THIS THURSDAY, November 16th, from 12:00 - 2:15 in the Media Center. College applications for NH-based schools should be complete and ready to submit by that time (application fees for all NH schools are waived at the event). It is requested (although not required) that students visit the Guidance Office to sign up for a timeslot ahead of time. This event is also a time when Seniors may apply to schools outside of NH (although fees will still apply) and work on resumes or submit job applications with the help of experts. One Newport student who submits a college application during the event will win a $500 scholarship! College admissions professionals will be on hand to answer questions and help be sure that applications are at their finest before submitting.

ATTENTION VETERANS! - You are invited for breakfast and a Veterans Day ceremony at Newport High School on Thursday, November 9th. Students will make and serve a delicious breakfast between 9:00 and 10:00 AM, which will be followed by a meaningful Veterans Day ceremony starting at 10:00 AM. Expect musical performances by the school band and choruses, student speeches and more! Enter through the front door by the gym. The students look forward to seeing you there!

Please join us for the 7th annual Expo at NMHS and SRVRTC! The Expo is an exciting event at which we will showcase our classes, student resources, Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs, business partners, and students’ work and talents. Families and members of the community are invited and encouraged to attend to see the wonderful opportunities our district has to offer the students of Newport and our sending districts. The evening will include delicious treats from Cafe Services, ongoing demonstrations, door prizes, live music and more!

The Newport School District will be holding 2 meetings this Thursday, June 22. The first meeting will be at 8:00am to discuss contract/agreement for the Bus Barn. The School Board is not conducting a formal meeting. This is a joint meeting between selected members of the school board and selected members of the selectboard.
