This Election's Homepage is a one-stop location where citizens will find all the information that would assist them in the voting process. We aim to create Your Go-To Place regarding Voter Registration, the Absentee Ballot Process, Absentee Applications, and our In-Person Procedures when you come to the SAU #43 Office.

In addition, it serves as a place for Voter Information such as Sample Ballots and our Newport School District Annual Report, all digital and easily accessible for you. You'll find details on where and what to expect on the day voting takes place, including a little knowledge of the technology we use in the Voting Process.

Filing Period: January 21 - 30, 2026

Declarations accepted at the SAU #43 Office.

Hours: Monday - Friday 8am-4pm. Open until 5pm on Friday, January 30, 2026.

In-Person Absentee Ballot Procedure (SAU #43 Office)

If you choose to receive and submit your Absentee Ballot directly at the SAU #43 office, here is the step-by-step procedure:

Step 1: Location Check-in

Proceed to the SAU #43 Office located at: 86 North Main St, Newport NH

Step 2: Present Identification

Present Valid Identification to the Election Assistant.

Identification must meet the Requirements of RSA 659: 13. View Requirements (RSA 659: 13)

Step 3: Application & Ballot Issuance

You will complete the Absentee Application.
Upon verification, you will be issued an Official Ballot.

Step 4: Voting Options

You can complete the ballot immediately and submit it, or
You can request a Return Envelope and Instructions to complete it later and return it by mail or in person.

Polling Location & Hours

Date: March 10, 2026

Polls are open from 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM.

Required Identification

It is mandatory to bring a valid photo ID for checking at the election assistants' station.

Drivers License or Non-Driver ID
United States Passport or Passcard
Photo ID card for “voting identification only” issued by NH DMV (RSA 260:21)

Election Procedure Walkthrough

ID Check: You will first be directed to the Election Assistants who shall request your Valid Identification.
Ballot Issuance: Whereupon they will be provided with an Official Ballot.
Assistance for Disabled Voters: If you are disabled, please request the Clerk for additional assistance.
Curbside Services: We also provide curbside services upon request.
Poll Closing: At 7:00 PM, the Polls close, with results being reported by our open-source Voting System VotingWorks.
Results Posting: Upon Completion, the Results will be posted on (our Election Results web page URL) and updated live on the Election Results section of this page.
