Newport Middle and High School completed a Food Pantry challenge last week with each day of the week an Advisory Class challenge to bring in the most items. Monday was canned goods, Tuesday toiletries, Wednesday macaroni and cheese, Thursday peanut butter and jelly and Friday dry goods. The drive was topped by a photo opportunity with "Irwin the Elf", David Irwin a high school English teacher. The drive garnered over 800 items and $50 cash that were picked up by Jim Demers of the Newport NAAC Food Pantry. Photo: David Irwin (l), Jim Demers (r)
