Our community is embarking upon a “Great Conversation” whereby together we assess the current facilities in light of optimal educational opportunities for all students. We had an excellent interactive dialogue of all school and community members and our appreciation to all who attended as schools and communities cannot do it alone, but must be interdependent. Please see attached information regarding the meeting on Thursday, December 6, 2012. We sincerely thank those for attending. We welcome all other interested school/community members to join us in the next steps inclusive of updated survey and formation of steering ad hoc focus group. As a follow up to the facilities conversation on December 6, 2012, the Newport School District administrative team wants to design a facility survey to gather community input relating to educational uses of district facilities. Please review the attached 2006 Building Survey that was conducted in the Newport community. The administrative team would like suggestions in terms of questions that should be included on the new survey as well as those that should be included from the 2006 survey.
