NEWPORT – The LAC (Local Advisory Committee) of the Newport School Board will host an informational workshop for educators, parents and community members on Thursday, February 12 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. A “snow date” of February 18 has been set. In case of inclement weather, please visit www.sau43.org for posting of the snow date.

Research shows that individuals learn in different manners. In this workshop, different learning styles are explored and the theory of “multiple intelligences” will be discussed. Participants will receive tools to help them identify a child’s learning style and ways to support students in their particular style of learning under different circumstances.

The LAC has partnered with New Hampshire’s Parent Information Center specialists in special education training and advocacy to present this very useful presentation. For more information or to register for the workshop, please contact SAU #43 Special Education Director, Heather Worthen: hworthen@sau43.org call (603) 865-9446 or visit www.sau43.org under the “Committees” heading / Local Advisory Committee.
