Presenting the award was Paul Page, NHFOA president. Accepting the award were Beaupre; 2014 Football Team Captain, Zach Whalen (NHS senior); Newport High School Principal, Linda Sutton; Ethan Jean, NHS Mathematics teacher and game public address announcer; Wayne Conroy, Chief of Newport Fire/EMS Department and “Chain Crew” member; Buddy Rowe, Newport Police Officer and transportation/parking representative; Tim Spanos, NHS Social Studies teacher and school representative/clock operator-official timer/auxiliary crew member; and SAU #43 Superintendent, Dr. Cindy Gallagher.
Other schools receiving 2014 season awards are: John Stark Regional High School/ Mark Searles, Athletic Director; Kingswood Regional High School/Andrea Ogden, Athletic Director; Pembroke Academy/Suzanne Klink, Athletic Director; Plymouth Regional High School/Jim Carey, Athletic Director. The award is based upon weekly reports from NHFOA members that officiated at varsity games throughout the season and is based upon football game administration in areas of communication, parking & transportation, school representatives/escorts, locker room provision and condition, hydration needs, auxiliary crew member professional conduct and availability, field marking and field security, hospitality, pre-game communication, respect extended to officials, the cooperation and ability of line-to-gain crew and official timer, and the overall teamwork of game support staff. The award is given as a symbol of NHFOA appreciation for school professionalism.
